Best Website Builder for Local SEO: How the Main Platforms Compare
By Muhammad Amir, Searcora Digital Ltd
The best website builder for local SEO is usually the one you already have, set up properly. Most mainstream builders can rank a local business; what differs is how much control you get over titles, structured data, redirects and location pages, and who will maintain the site. This page compares the main platforms on those controls and gives a four-question test for any builder not listed.
Searcora Digital Ltd is a UK-registered company working remotely with businesses in the UK and abroad, on your Google Business Profile, your website and your listings. Google names three local ranking factors — relevance, distance and prominence — and each section below works on one of them; the full method is in how to rank higher on Google Maps.
The short answer
For a single-location business, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow and Shopify can all rank locally when set up well. WordPress and Webflow give the most control for many location pages. Wix and Squarespace suit owners who edit the site themselves. Shopify suits shops selling online and in person. Google Sites is not built for SEO and is best avoided for a business website.

Four questions for any other builder
For Duda, Showit, Figma Sites or any newer builder, check these before you commit:
- Can I write a different SEO title and meta description for every page?
- Can I add LocalBusiness structured data, through a setting or custom code?
- Can I set 301 redirects when a URL changes?
- Can I create a separate page for each service and each real location, with its own URL?
What matters more than the platform
Local rankings are decided mostly outside the website: the Google Business Profile category, reviews, consistent citations and local links. A Wix site with a well-run profile beats a perfect WordPress site with a neglected one. Choose the platform you can keep updated, then put the effort into the profile and the pages.
The local SEO that matters on any platform
The platform only changes where the settings live. What ranks a local business is the same everywhere:
- A Google Business Profile with the right primary category, linked to the matching page on your site — a location page for a shop, the homepage or a service page for a single-site business.
- Name, address and phone written exactly as on the profile, in the footer and on the contact page.
- One page per service and per real location, each answering what people search, not one page listing everything.
- LocalBusiness structured data with your name, address or area served, phone and opening hours.
- A fast mobile page with a tap-to-call button at the top — most local searches happen on phones.

How we start with your website
- Check the map pack for your main searches from a few points across the area you serve, to see where you appear and where you do not.
- Compare your profile with the three that win — categories, services, reviews, photos and completeness.
- Fix relevance first, because it moves fastest, then work on listings, reviews and local links for prominence.
- Report what changed in calls, direction requests and website visits from the profile, not just positions.
