Webflow SEO: How to Set Up a Webflow Site for Local Search
By Muhammad Amir, Searcora Digital Ltd
Webflow SEO gives you almost complete control, which is both the advantage and the risk. Clean code, fast hosting and per-page settings are built in; what goes wrong is usually design decisions — headings chosen for looks, CMS templates without SEO fields, redirects forgotten after a rebuild. This page covers the Webflow settings that matter for local search and how to structure a Webflow site so it ranks in its area.
Searcora Digital Ltd is a UK-registered company working remotely with businesses in the UK and abroad, on your Google Business Profile, your website and your listings. Google names three local ranking factors — relevance, distance and prominence — and each section below works on one of them; the full method is in how to rank higher on Google Maps.
Webflow page and CMS SEO settings
Webflow splits SEO between static pages and CMS templates.
- Page settings: each static page has SEO settings for the title tag and meta description, plus Open Graph settings for social sharing.
- CMS templates: bind the SEO title and description to collection fields, so every location or service item gets its own title rather than the template default.
- Sitemap: turn on the auto-generated sitemap in the site’s SEO settings and submit it in Google Search Console.
- 301 redirects: add them in the site settings whenever a URL changes, especially after a redesign, so old rankings and links are not lost.
LocalBusiness schema with Webflow custom code
Webflow does not add LocalBusiness structured data for you. Add JSON-LD in the page’s custom code head section for a single-location business, or in the CMS template with fields for each location’s address, phone and hours. Validate it with Google’s Rich Results Test before publishing.
Location and service pages with the Webflow CMS
The CMS is ideal for locations and services, as long as each item has real, different content: photos, details and reviews for that area or service. Use a proper H1 on each template and keep heading levels in order — Webflow lets you style any tag to look like any other, so check the structure, not just the design.
The local SEO that matters on any platform
The platform only changes where the settings live. What ranks a local business is the same everywhere:
- A Google Business Profile with the right primary category, linked to the matching page on your site — a location page for a shop, the homepage or a service page for a single-site business.
- Name, address and phone written exactly as on the profile, in the footer and on the contact page.
- One page per service and per real location, each answering what people search, not one page listing everything.
- LocalBusiness structured data with your name, address or area served, phone and opening hours.
- A fast mobile page with a tap-to-call button at the top — most local searches happen on phones.
Webflow SEO mistakes
These are the issues that hold back otherwise well-built Webflow sites.
- CMS items without SEO fields, so every location shows the same title.
- Headings picked for size rather than structure.
- No redirects after a rebuild or URL change.
- Heavy interactions and animations slowing mobile pages.
- The staging domain indexed alongside the live site.
Who does the work
Searcora’s local SEO work is led by Muhammad Amir, a local SEO consultant who is Top Rated Plus on Upwork with more than 600 projects and a 99% Job Success score. The client reviews live on Upwork, not on this site: read them on Upwork, or see how to hire a local SEO expert directly.
How we start with Webflow sites
- Check the map pack for your main searches from a few points across the area you serve, to see where you appear and where you do not.
- Compare your profile with the three that win — categories, services, reviews, photos and completeness.
- Fix relevance first, because it moves fastest, then work on listings, reviews and local links for prominence.
- Report what changed in calls, direction requests and website visits from the profile, not just positions.
