LinkedIn Premium Duo: What It Costs, How Sharing Works, and When Two Seats Are Cheaper

By Muhammad Amir, Searcora Digital Ltd · LinkedIn Help pages read 22 October 2026

Premium Duo is LinkedIn’s way to share one Premium Career or Premium Business subscription between two people — and the only approved way to “share LinkedIn Premium”. Sharing a login is not. This page sets out what Duo is, what it is reported to cost, the rules in LinkedIn’s own help pages, and when two separate fixed-term seats work out cheaper.

What it is

What LinkedIn Premium Duo is

According to LinkedIn’s help pages, Premium Duo lets you subscribe to Premium Career or Premium Business and share the subscription with one other person by email, whether or not they are in your network.

  • One payer, one guest. The primary subscriber pays and is the only one who can add or remove the second member. That role cannot be handed over.
  • Two private accounts. Each person keeps a separate, independent account. The payer sees only whether the invitation was accepted, not the other person’s activity or details.
  • Access for the rest of the cycle. The second member gets Premium for the remainder of the billing cycle once added, and the plan continues as long as the primary subscriber keeps renewing.
  • One bill, even with an empty seat. The primary subscriber is billed for Duo every cycle even if nobody has been invited or the invitation has not been accepted.
  • Desktop only, still rolling out. Duo can only be bought on the LinkedIn desktop website, and LinkedIn says not every account has access to it yet.
Price

What Premium Duo costs

LinkedIn shows Duo prices on the Premium plan page when you are signed in, and prices differ by country, so the figure in your own account is the one that counts. Third-party price guides in October 2026 list Premium Career Duo in the US at about $59.99 a month for both seats — roughly $30 per person — against $39.99 a month for a single Career plan at LinkedIn’s list price. Business Duo costs more. Like single plans, Duo renews automatically until the primary subscriber cancels.

Here is what two people pay for Premium Career by each route:

Rules

Who can and cannot take Duo

Several rules in LinkedIn’s help pages catch people out, especially anyone who already pays for Premium or Sales Navigator.

  • No switching in. LinkedIn says existing subscribers cannot use “Switch plans” to move into Duo. To accept a Duo invitation, you cancel your current Premium and let it end first.
  • Not alongside Sales Navigator Advanced or Recruiter Lite as the owner. LinkedIn says you cannot take Duo while you are the primary subscriber or administrator of a Sales Navigator Advanced or Recruiter Lite subscription.
  • Career and Business only. Duo exists for Premium Career and Premium Business. There is no Duo version of Sales Navigator or Recruiter Lite.
  • Trials depend on eligibility. LinkedIn says you may be able to try Duo free, depending on eligibility, as with single plans.
Sharing

Can LinkedIn Premium be shared any other way?

Duo is the only sharing LinkedIn supports. Sharing one login between two people breaks LinkedIn’s User Agreement, which expects one account per person, and logins from two places at once are exactly the pattern that gets accounts restricted. The “shared Premium accounts” sold on marketplaces work the same way and carry the same risk, with the extra problem that the seller keeps the password. If two people need Premium, they need either Duo or two plans on two accounts.

Which to choose

Duo or two separate seats

Both routes give each person Premium on their own account. The difference is who pays, how, and for how long. For three or more people, see LinkedIn Premium for teams.

  • Choose Duo if one person is happy to pay a recurring bill for both, you both want the same plan, and the payer is comfortable controlling the second seat.
  • Choose two separate seats if each person wants their own term or a different plan — Career for one, Business for the other.
  • Choose two separate seats if one of you already pays for Premium, since Duo would mean cancelling and waiting for that plan to end.
  • Choose two separate seats if you would rather pay once for a fixed term than set up a recurring charge on a card.

Questions

LinkedIn shows the Duo price on the Premium plan page in your account, and it varies by country. Third-party guides in October 2026 list Premium Career Duo in the US at about $59.99 a month for two people. Business Duo costs more.
Only through Premium Duo, where the paying member invites one other person by email. Sharing a login is against LinkedIn’s User Agreement and puts both people at risk of restriction.
Not by switching. LinkedIn says existing subscribers cannot use Switch plans to move into Duo; you cancel your current plan and let it end before accepting an invitation.
No. LinkedIn says each Duo account stays private. The paying member can see only whether the invitation was accepted.
LinkedIn says Duo is still being rolled out, so some accounts do not have it yet, and it can only be bought on the desktop website, not in the app.
Two fixed-term seats are usually cheaper than a year of Duo. Through Searcora, two 12-month Career seats are $280 in total, paid once, against about $720 for a year of Career Duo at the reported US monthly price.
